Intelligent Designs (or Creation Myths)

"The problem with this aproach is that Religion will always find a way to justify itself, if you attack it with logic most religious advocates will firmly push thier fingers in their ears and chant whatever passage from the bible they can think of that will make you go away.

Science takes the stand point that all things can be explained, not really much else needs to be said about it.

Now heres where the interesting thing comes in, in science all research is made public, it can be challenged by anyone, if you can prove your theory disproves their theory then they will usually acknowledge your theory is right.

Religion rigidly controls its knowledge allowing the public to only see parts of it that it deems acceptable, anything that cannot readly be explained by religious scholars is either disputed or written off as a creation of evil origins. The catholic church has several written works from the same time frame as the books that make up the bible under lock and key, deemed to controversial for the church to allow out, furthermore the bible has been edited by the hand of man, after of course being written by the hand of man.

Lets also look at history for another veiw into religion vs evolution. we'll start with the 7 wonders, The Colossus of Rhodes, The Great Pyramid of Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Lighthouse of Alexandria, The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, The Statue of Zeus at Olympia,The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. All of these were built at a time when people worshipped many gods and all beleived in intelligent design, their religions inspired them to do bigger and better things to grow as a society and explore their world(science) and to grasp the knowledge of the universe firmly.

now, after the rise of the christian/singular god religions what great things happened?

not a whole lot really, world war 1, the rise of the nazi empire, the berlin wall, north and south korea, and millions of people have used religion to justify any number of stupid acts of violence on others.

Science makes no judgements about race,gender, preferences or lifestyle, religion judges everyone and seems to be set to brush aside the abnormal people.

So lets see here, we can either buy into science, a system that is fair, unbiased and based on finding the truth in things without an agenda, science asks for donations up front and shows you were the money is being spent, it betters our lives by giving us things like light bulbs, television and even the computers we are using right now.

religion makes millions of people feel guilty and uncomfortable, tells them that they neednt worry about learning of complex things as its all unimportant in the long run, takes in millions of dollars every year and pays zero taxes, most of the time no one really knows where the money goes, but the church keeps getting bigger and the preachers car nicer.

So if you must have this false sense of security of a giant man in the clouds watching over you and deciding how your life will go for you then by all means keep thinking it. If you want the truth perhaps you should put down the good book and start reading a better one."
